Samuel Whitbread Community College has been an Engineering Specialist College since 2004. In September 2009 it became the lead school for the Engineering Diploma within Bedfordshire.
The ethos throughout the College is to enhance the understanding of the relationship between design and technology, mathematics, science and information communications technology. This underpins a broad curriculum and will raise standards of achievement for all students across the ability and subject range.
The engineering specialism supports whole school improvement by increasing opportunities for students to follow a wide range of vocational and academic pathways.
Through our specialism we have been able to develop relationships and share resources and good practice with local schools, industries, businesses and our wider community. Through working with these partners we have been able to inspire our students to gain the skills needed to progress into employment, further and higher education according to their individual abilities, aptitudes and ambitions.
